Introducing BitStream!

What happens when I get tired of using Twitter because it is owned by a certain person? Well, I sorta make my own!

Introducing BitStream, a micro-blogging plugin for WordPress. It is live on my website now, and you can use it on your own too! (although I highly DO NOT recommend you do, see below why). You can also look at it on GitHub: https://github.com/facundopignanelli/bitstream

But… Why?

I mean… why not? Wouldn’t it be great to have a space to post your quick thoughts or share quick moments that maybe do not deserve a fully fledged blog post? And before you come for me… Automattic is already working on it! But i just wanted some features that did not support.

Also, it was a fun test project to try out this whole vibecoding thing that has been floating around: I “coded” the entire project by directing AI to do it. I did not write, nor touch a single line of code.

Let’s not make it harder than it has to be

This was… a mixed bag. Go see it for yourself on the GitHub and you’ll see what I mean. At any rate, it works, and I’ll keep iterating on it using AI to add some features and see the state of AI coding as it progresses.

Support & Contributions

None. Zero. Nada. Use as-is, don’t blame me if it doesn’t work. On that vein, please do not submit any contributions to the main project, as those won’t be accepted. If you have some great ideas, I strongly encourage you to fork the repo and work on it on your own. I want to keep this project, for better or for worse, entirely AI-generated. Even the readme is! So human contributions are not appreciated 🙂

Roadmap

I have a few things planned: RSS support, tags, a foursquare revival…, among others. I will post as I release.

To sum-up

I made a thing with AI, it sorta works, it’s not very good – but that is the point. Go crazy with it. Cheers!
